Do you know that song? "We'll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park
And reminiscing"....you don't? It's just me? Well, I love that song and still play those lyrics in my head every time I hear the word reminiscing and probably always will.
Anyways, we are halfway through fall and I have just been reminiscing (we'll go dancing in the dark!) about our year, particularly the summer. We had a wonderful summer, filled with family trips and an escapade to LA in an attempt to expand our family via invitro fertilization. A lot has happened. A lot is still happening. I feel like every time I breath a sigh of relief something happens to put me back on my toes. I decided not to go into it much and probably wont again on my blog. Long story short, had some more bleeding this past week. I am extremely grateful my parents were in town. They were my saving grace. Anyways, baby looks good right now. But things are just so up and down, I am very hopeful that things will end on the "up" side, but I feel like a broken record talking about it all. One week lots of bleeding and not knowing how things look, next week things looking good and I can relax a bit, then the cycle starts all over. So for now I am going to just deal with it and reminisce about our wonderful summer before we are deeply into fall-then again who am I kidding. We live in Chicago, fall could be over tomorrow! :)
Here are some of my favorite summer memories.
Micah introducing E to the ice cream man and eating our treats on the front porch.
Most of E's ice cream making it onto her face and shirt.
San Diego. What a blast.
When aunt Jenna came to visit. We went all out on cotton candy ice cream
and sprinkles cupcakes. We had such a fun trip with her.
It's always fun going downtown, however, it is a feat going downtown with a toddler.
When we came back from LA being away from this precious face for almost 11 days.
That was hard. First thing I did was give her the "princess" dress I got her and threw her hair into her
first real pig tails.
She felt super fancy and girly.
Celebrating Micah's 28th bday.
The Chicago air show. I enjoyed the first hour...the next 3 after that were kind of long
but it was all worth it to capture this crazy picture of my free spirited girl.
Visiting my friend and her boyfriend in Wisconsin and attending the Milwaukee zoo.
Eleni was excited. I promise...even though she may not look it.
These pictures make me happy. We had a lot of fun this summer. Can't wait for the holiday season. I have already eaten my fair share of candy corn and caramel apples and I am ready for more!
No idea what song you are talking about but I sure did like your recap of the summer! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry about all the scares, I'm glad your parents were able to visit you. Eleni is seriously to die for! So adorable!
